Considered the true progenitors of British punk before Sex Pistols e Buzzcocks, i Damned return to Italy for a concert not to be missed by lovers of the genre Sunday 20 May 2018 at the Circolo Magnolia in Segrate (MI). I tickets are already available on circuits Vivaticket e Ticketone (online and point of sale).
More than forty years after their debut in London's nascent punk scene and ten years after their last recording So, Who's Paranoid? (English Channel Records, 2008), Dave Vanian and co. are back on track with a new European tour and a long-awaited new album, Evil Spiritswhich will be released on 13 April by Search And Destroy/Spinefarm Records. Producing the new work is Tony Visconti, long-time collaborator of David Bowie, U2, Iggy Pop, Morrissey and many others.
I Damned have written important pages in rock history: their New Rose (1976) is the first punk anthem made in the UK, itself contained in what was the first album of the genre, Damned Damned (1977)which the band soon took on a US tour in what turned out to be a new British Invasion. Afterwards, the Damned were among the first to slide the colourful punk of their origins into the darker genre gothicwhich would go on to have a major influence on the British music scene in the late 1970s, and to influence generations of punk, goth and hardcore bands worldwide.
I Damned are Dave Vanian (voice), Captain Sensible (guitar), Monty Oxy Moron (keyboards), Pinch (drums) and John Priestley (low).
