With his two previous publications - Hell or Highwater of 2015 and Every Third Thought of 2017 - Duchovnyreceived critical acclaim: Allmusic described his music as 'an eloquent country folk, kissed by alt-rock, in the wake of Wilco e The Wallflowers', while the Boston Globe praised the voice of Duchovny.
Duchovny - singer-songwriter on record, and gifted with a healthy sense of humour in real life - thanks for the compliments but follows his modest path: 'I finish a record, then I sit down and listen to it, and say yes! It's good melodic stuff. What more could you want?"
Helping out with all these sounds are Colin Lee, Mitch Stewart e Pat McCuskerthree former fellow students at Berklee College of Music and long-time session man, who worked with Duchovny in all his records.
After the release of Gestureland Duchovny published a new novel (Truly Like Lightning), a novella (The Reservoir) and is co-author - together with the illustrator Phillip Sevy - of the graphic novel Kepler. Not content with that, he also worked on the re-adaptation of his novel Bucky F*cking Dent for the cinema, premiering it at the Tribeca Film Festival. But like all good musicians, he is anxious to get back on tour and play the new songs live.
