A day to mark on the calendar for soul lovers: Saturday 14 July sees the arrival of revelation Ben L'Oncle Soul, for a concert in the splendid setting of Villa Arconati, in Bollate, in the province of Milan.
He grew up with the music of Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Donny Hattaway and Marvin Gaye but had no idea yet that his destiny was sealed and that he would become a Motown artist.
After a show in a small club, the manager of the prestigious label came to his dressing room and made him sign a contract that would bind him to his dream, turning him into Ben L'Oncle Soul. Thus began his adventure in 2009, starting with an EP, Soul Wash, which made him world famous with its reinterpretation of the White Stripes' song 'Seven Nation Army'.
He began an interminable tour that took him to the most important stages around the world: North Sea Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz Festiva,Sziget Festival, until he landed in the United States where he played in NY, CHICAGO and SAN FRANCISCO.
In 2010, his eponymous album was released to incredible sales success in France.
It was also released in Germany and upon the album's release he toured for 15 dates; a tour that earned him the 'Best Tour Club 2010' award in Germany.
In 2011, he also started to be talked about in Italy.
In July 2011, the single 'Seven Nation Army' was released and climbed the charts, reaching number 10 on the most played songs chart.
All the major broadcasters pushed the single to the point of making it one of the summer hits. This led to his performance at the Blue Note in Milan with an announced sell-out on 11 December.
In the meantime, his CD/DVD of the Paris concert was released in France, which sold 500,000 copies in just two months and earned him five platinum records.
On 9 March 2012, his second single in Italy 'Soulman' was released, followed by the album 'Ben L'Oncle Soul'.
