Brooke Fraser is back on tour in Europe after the series of dates that brought her to Italy last spring: three dates, the first in Rome, then in Bologna and, finally, back in Milan, by popular demand.
"Something in the Waterthe first single from his third album "FlagsThe young singer-songwriter from New Zealand has already proved her artistic worth far beyond the success of a radio hit. The young singer-songwriter from New Zealand has already amply demonstrated an artistic value that goes far beyond the success of a radio hit. This is confirmed by her concerts, where her indie soul emerges, as well as her latest album in its entirety: 'Flags' is, in fact, the summa of her creative vein and shows the talent and imagination of this artist, capable of writing songs with a folk soul but able to climb the charts with their freshness. Brooke is currently in the Italian charts with her new single "Betty".
Influenced by female pop veterans such asCarole King, Sarah McLachlaneJoni Mitchelland also byJames TaylorBrooke plays acoustic guitar and has a crystal clear voice (despite never having taken singing lessons). She's already found her way into pop and has the makings of a journey alongside artists such asNorah Jones, Nelly Furtado, Taylor Swift... and it's very different from planned pop stars. For example, 'FlagsShe produced it herself. "I've always written and played my own songs and I've always had a very personal opinion on how they should sound,' she says. "Artists often work with this or that producer because they like his sound... But I didn't want someone else's sound. I didn't even want to listen to other people's ideas about mine. I wanted my own sound.
Brooke often changes cities according to inspiration. To write her first record she moved from Wellington to Auckland, then later, to write and record an album, she moved from the sunshine of Sydney to that of Los Angeles.
