Bruce Springsteen has said Yes to The Cyborgs. For the first time in Italy, an artist will have the honour of opening the concert of the New Jersey rocker and his E-Street Band. The Cyborgs, 0 and 1, the two masked musicians from outer space, able to win everyone over to the sound of the blues, enter into the history and fable that links Springsteen to our country.
All this will happen on the occasion of next Thursday 11 July at Rock in Roma, the fourth Italian stop of the 'Wrecking Ball Tour', after the dates in Naples, Padua and Milan between last May and June.
The Cyborgs will take the stage at the Hippodrome Le Capannelle at 19:00.
The new album by the line-up from the future, Electric Chairwas released on 1 May by the Turin-based label INRI and was preceded by the single Last War. From this moment on, The Cyborgs have travelled miles to bring their music to Italy and abroad, confirming the stage as their natural habitat, in an alchemy with the 'live' dimension that has already emerged during the numerous, almost two hundred dates held by the duo over the last eighteen months.
The Cyborgs' new manifesto, 'Electric Chair', collects twelve original tracks and one cover permeated with the blues rock sound of the 1970s, but not only. In the careful journey of rediscovering the lost traces of black music, there is no lack of incursions of Afro and oriental sounds, hints of psychedelic rock and winks at the jazz experiments of the turn of the century, but always with an eye fixed on the revolutionary experience of cult groups such as ZZ Top, The Knack and Canned Heat, a musical legacy assimilated and re-proposed in their unmistakable riot signature.
