Less than a year after his last live appearance in Italy, (3 sold-out shows in Milan, Rome and Bologna for his solo acoustic show) BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN returns in concert, 12 May at DATCHFORUM in ASSAGO (MILAN)with a completely revamped show - 18 musicians on stage - on the occasion of the release of 'WE SHALL OVERCOME: THE SEEGER SESSIONS"the new CD to be released on 24 April by SonyBmg.
Organised by Claudio Trotta's Barley Arts, the concert promises to be particularly intense, amidst gospel, folk and blues, with songs from the new CD, a reinterpretation of traditional songs performed 'under the guiding light of legendary American folk music, Peter Seeger'.
The 12 May concert, the only date in Italy on the tour of just 10 shows across Europe, which debuts on 5 May at the Point in Dublin and ends on the 21st in Stockholm, will see SPRINGSTEEN grappling with vocals, guitar and harmonica, accompanied on stage by a 17-piece superband: Sam Bardfeld (Violin), Art Baron (Tuba), Frank Bruno (Guitar), Jeremy Chatzky (Bass), Larry Eagle (Drums), Clark Gayton (Trombone), Charles Giordano (Accordion, keyboards), Curtis King (backing vocals), Greg Liszt (Banjo), Lisa Lowell (backing vocals), Eddie Manion (Sax), Cindy Mizell (backing vocals), Curt Ramm (Trumpet), Marty Rifkin (Pedal Steel Guitar), Patti Scialfa (backing vocals), Mark Thompson (backing vocals) and Soozie Tyrell (Violin).
