'The Balcony' (Island/Communion Records, 2014) is the band's first studio album, written by the charismatic frontman Van McCann and produced by Jim Abiss (Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian). With a sound reminiscent of Johnny Marr, The Cribs, Feeder e Mystery JetsThe work was well received by critics and the public, reaching eighth position on the US Independent Albums and achieving the certification of gold disc in the UK. In addition, the band was awarded the title of Best Newcomer at BBC Music Awards and conquered both his native England and the United States, where he had the privilege of presenting the single "Kathleen' at Late Show with David Letterman. The performance had the effect of making the song one of the most played on alternative radio stations.
During 2014 the Catfish And The Bottlemen were engaged in a long tour of the States and the UK, where they scored several sold-out shows (including two at the Brixton Academy last November) and participation in prestigious festivals such as Glastonbury, Reading, T In The Park e Bonnaroo.
