The Pretendersled by rock queen Chrissie Hyndewill be in our country for two stops in two beautiful open-air venues to present their latest work Alone (BMG Rights Management, 2016): Thursday 13 July 2017 at the Vittoriale Amphitheatre in Gardone Riviera on the occasion of the Tener-a-mind Festival e Friday 14 July at the Cavea of the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Romewhich hosts the July Sounds Good. Le pre-sales will open on the official circuit Ticketone (online and points of sale) at 11 a.m. on Wednesday 22 March.
While in the recording studio with Dan Auerback (Black Keys) to work on the follow-up to his solo work Stockholm (Caroline International, 2014)the band's long-time leader realised that the album that was taking shape, tentatively titled Chrissie Hynde Practices Her Autographhad all the makings of a comeback for the Pretenders. Thirty-seven years after the eponymous debut album, Alone can be considered the older, wiser and badder brother of that debut. The band, which the Hynde describes as consisting of "real people playing real instruments", hosts Johnny Cash's bass player Dave Roethe country rocker Kenny Vaughan to the chirarra and members of the Arcs, side project of Dan Auerbach: Richard Swift to the battery, Leon Michels on keyboards and Russ Pahl pedal steel guitar.
