After a 50-year career, the Clannad have announced a farewell tour to accompany the release of In a Lifetime, the anthology collecting the work of one of Ireland's most successful bands, which will be released on 13 March by BMG. Italian fans will have one chance to say goodbye to the line-up, Tuesday 26 May 2020 at the Pala Phenomenon in Fontaneto d'Agogna (NO). I tickets will be available from 10 a.m. on Wednesday 22 January on circuits Ticketone e Ciaotickets (online and point of sale).
I Clannad (name derived from the word family in Gaelic) were formed in 1970 from the union of the brothers Moya, Ciarán e Pól Brennan with uncles Noel e Pádraig Duggan (sadly missed in 2016), for a time accompanied by Enya Brennan who went on to a very successful solo career. The award-winning band brought Irish music and language to a worldwide audience, fusing elements of traditional music with contemporary folk, new age and rock.
During their long career, the Clannad have collaborated with artists such as Bruce Hornsby, Steve Perry, JD Souther, Paul Young e Duke Specialin addition, of course, to Bono of U2with whom in 1985 they recorded the title single of the forthcoming anthology In a Lifetime.
"Before our 2013-2015 world tour we discussed a final tour of our own, and when Pádraig left us we decided that our next tour would indeed be our last. We will make it a memorable adventure, and to accompany it we are delighted to release In a Lifetimewhich we hope will leave our fans with a valuable legacy.
