Comfort Festival focuses on the psychophysical wellbeing of the audience and not on the quest for mass numbers. Larassegna was born in 2021 from a very simple idea of the founder of Barley Arts Claudio Trottato use a beautiful and natural location to allow the audience to enjoy a relaxing day of good music.

"I am very grateful to the city of Ferrara, starting with the Mayor Alan Fabbri and the Councillor for Culture Marco Gulinelli, who strongly wanted our 'boutique' festival project to continue in their wonderful city. I am very happy with the artistic cast that we have chosen after months of work and selection that were not always easy. Finally, I believe that the new location will be very much appreciated by the public and the participating artists. We have kept ticket prices down thanks to the collaboration with the Ferrara School of Music and the Municipality of Ferrara, and we truly believe that what we will experience on Sunday 7 July will be special,' he says. Claudio Trotta.

La New Dockyard by Ferrara, a recently redeveloped area, is a particularly evocative place where land and water meet. It is a truly unique location in the heart of the city of Ferrara (UNESCO heritage site) to attend events, spend the evening in company and, especially at sunset, enjoy the sunset reflected in the water. Ferrara is indeed a city whose history is inextricably linked to water: it was born and shaped between the primary branch of the Po and the Po di Volano, a tributary that still reaches the sea and flows into the Sacca di Goro. The Darsena di San Paolo constitutes a cycle-pedestrian stretch along the Po di Volano and is part of the Quartiere Giardino.

This extraordinary setting will host the grand return to the stage after a nine-year hiatus of the The Gaslight Anthem on the only Italian date in summer 2024during which they will present their new album History Books (2023). Preceding the band of Brian Fallon and co. on stage will be Gary Clark Jr., acclaimed blues singer and guitarist, holder of a long list of awards - including several Grammy Awards - for his work, including the extraordinary This Land (2019). In the late afternoon the Rival Sons, a Californian blues rock band that released two albums within a few months of each other during 2023, Darkfighter e Lightbringer. Preceding them will be a line-up particularly beloved by lovers of the New Jersey sound: Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukeswhich is inextricably linked with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band and quoted by Jon Bon Jovi as his great source of inspiration. Slow Music ETS is once again a partner of the festival this year and presents The War and Treaty, a duo that mixes blues, gospel, soul, bluegrass and country named after the Grammy Awards with the latest studio work Blank Page (2023), also in only Italian date. Opening the day will be the Hardwicke Circusproduced by the legendary Dave Robinson founder of the Stiff Records, and the Lovesick as the only Italian artists of the day.

Ferrara Musicians' Association - School of Modern Music

La Ferrara Musicians Association It is a non-profit cultural association founded in July 1990, and operates in agreement with the Department of Youth Policies of the Municipality of Ferrara, and is included in the Regional Register of Associations; the association's main activity is the organisation of courses at the SCUOLA DI MUSICA MODERNA DI FERRARA (MODERN MUSIC SCHOOL OF FERRARA), whose management, which took over from the Coop. Charlie Chaplin of Ferrara, has led to an increase in the number of students enrolled (from 85 in 1986 - Charlie Chaplin management - to over 700 in the academic year. 2023/2024); at the same time, the number of main courses has grown (from 8 courses in 1986 to 26 in the current a/s) and complementary courses, which are free of charge for internal students and accessible with a small one-off fee by those who do not attend a main course (1st, 2nd and 3rd level theory courses, choral singing, ensemble music and home recording); In addition to all this, in order to bring a heterogeneous and broad audience closer to musical culture, the AMF, again in collaboration with the Municipality of Ferrara, organises a series of events with free admission such as modern and classical music listening guides, literary presentations, concerts and workshops. At present, 24 people work in this structure, including some of the most prominent musicians in Emilia Romagna as well as prestigious collaborators; the high level of teaching, also proven by the large number of excellent young musicians already in activity trained in this school, means that applications come not only from the city of Ferrara, but also from the entire province and neighbouring areas.

These data certainly show that the MODERN MUSIC SCHOOL OF FERRARA has now become a consolidated and important teaching and training facility that meets the demands of users in the city and the surrounding area; the data place it as the most attended in the Region. The Modern Music School of the Ferrara Musicians' Association is one of the schools recognised by the Emilia Romagna Region and is located in via Darsena 57, where it occupies an area of approximately 600 square metres; it has 12 fully equipped classrooms, a recording room and a lecture hall where lessons on complementary ensemble subjects such as music theory, choral singing, home recording, workshops, concerts and listening guides are organised.

Each school year is concluded with class essays. Since the school moved to via Darsena 57 at Palazzo Savonuzzi, they have contributed together with the event Un Fiume di Musica Festival della Solidarietà, active since 2016, to the urban regeneration of the Darsena di San Paolo.
