MORRISSEY ALSO CONFIRMED, HERE IS THE FINAL CAST OF THE FLIPPAUT ROCK FESTIVAL

Following the great success of the first edition, which on 1 and 2 June 2003 saw big names such as BEN HARPER, AUDIOSLAVE, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, SKIN and THE WHITE STRIPES perform on the same stage, attracting over 30,000 people over two days, the FLIPPAUT ROCK FESTIVAL returns for the second year running.

The festival, scheduled for Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 June at Made in Bo in Bologna (Arena Parco Nord), will have as headliners on the first evening the KORN by Jonathan Davis, touring Italy on ONE DATE to present their sixth studio work Take A Look in the Mirror, while the second day will be concluded by the MUSE, fresh from the resounding success of their latest album Absolution (a gold record in Italy) and the related tour that last October saw four completely sold-out dates. Also this year, from the opening of the gates and throughout the day, an exceptional resident DJ will entertain the public: LUCA DE GENNAROfrom the microphones of Radio Rai to some of the most successful evenings in trendy clubs all over Italy, one of the most eclectic DJs on the scene.

Alongside the masters Korn on the first day, space was given to the Anglo-Spanish hard-rock of ILL NINOand the welcome return of the SOULFLY by Max Cavalera, former frontman of the glorious Sepultura, who recently came out with a new album, Prophecy. Gothic atmospheres instead for the HIMfrom Sweden, now also a certainty here in Italy. Two exceptional characters are behind the name BRIDES OF DESTRUCTIONThe group in fact consists of Nikki Sixxthe historic bassist of Motley Crue, and Tracii Guns guitarist of LA Guns, two cult bands of the 1980s, now in this new glam adventure. In the same glam rock wake also come the BACKYARD BABIES, famous for their fiery live sets, while the original line-up of the historic LIFE OF AGONY by Keith Caputo. Rounding out the cast of the first day was the sound violence of our own MISTONOCIVE and EXTREMAtwo bands that would also do little to disfigure in the international arena.

A turn towards more indie-alternative atmospheres on the second day of Flippaut, Sunday 13 June. In ONE DATE the great MORRISSEY, the undisputed and ultra-respected leader of the Smiths, still capturing the attention of the specialised press to the sound of covers with his new album You Are The Quarry, which comes out on 17 May. His return to Italy, where he has been missing for almost ten years, is highly anticipated.
Young disciples of Morrissey could be the THE VEILS led by 19-year-old Finn Andrews, who will anticipate the Maestro on stage on the second day of Flippaut, as well as the THREE HAPPY DEAD GUYS by Davide Toffolo with their Incredible Spectaculo de la Vida e de la Muerte.
Garage rock breaks through with the JET, revelation band of the year with the hit Are you gonna be my girl , e THE YOUNG HEART ATTACK, a disruptive Texan ensemble from the school of The Who and MC5. A presence from the Nordic lands also on the second day with the THE RASMUS and their Finnish rock with instant appeal (two sold-out shows in Italy in January). From Liverpool come THE ZUTONSa band that many are already betting on as the future next big thingenergetic sound and excellent rock, funk and soul interlacing are the cards with which the band presents itself for the first time in Italy. Indie rock taken to extremes with Lo-Fi sounds for the Brits KAITOwhile Brooklyn is the birthplace of the TV ON THE RADIO and their very special electronic post-punk. Fresh from their tour with Duran Duran, the ultra-gossipy SCISSOR SISTERS, a glam-dance group already idolised in their native England, into the limelight with the song Comfortably Numb, a Pink Floyd cover.
