Anna Politkovskaya in memoriam", a play by Lars Noren, translation by Annuska Palme Sanavio, directed by Salvino Raco, with Alessandro Baldinotti, Diego Giannettoni, Enzo Giraldo, Michele Mariniello, Antonella Morassutti, Sergio Paladino, Silvia Rubino, images by Giulio Dimitri, sound director Nicola Tripaldi, Black Lights photography by Elia Festa, will make its Italian debut on 4 March 2013 at 8 pm at Officine Creative Ansaldo.
Lars Noren, one of Europe's best-known Swedish playwrights, dedicated his play to the Russian journalist who was murdered in the lift of her home in 2006. Anna Politkovskaya became a symbol of truth-telling for her commitment to defending the weak.
The harsh and ferocious text is a story of violence against women, against children, of man against man. The characters give life, in a large empty space, to a journey not only of words, but of sounds and images.
The aim of the work is to stimulate the viewer on the theme of violence and 'lead him to reflection and freedom of thought on the condition of the human being and his acts'.
The play underlines how the extension of violence from the private to the social and from the social to the private becomes automatic.
On Monday 4 March 2013 at 10 a.m., a meeting will be organised between the associations operating in the Milan area, sensitive to the issues related to violence against women and minors.
The text, previously unpublished in Italy, will be published by Campanotto Editore in February 2013.
