On the occasion of their 20th anniversary, the Evergrey will be in Italy for a single date during which they will present excerpts from The Storm Withintheir latest album, released on 9 September. The date is for Sunday 24 September 2017 at the Legend Club in Milan. I tickets will be available on Ticketone (online and points of sale) from Thursday 25 May.
The progressive/power metal band from Gothenburg celebrates its 20th birthday with the most powerful album of its career. All those who have followed the Evergrey from their origins will find it difficult not to be totally bewitched by the atmosphere of The Storm Within already on the first listen. The progressive, dark and melancholic elements that are the hallmark of the ensemble are as present and strong as ever, the album ranks as one of the most progressive works in terms of performance, but the Evergrey have made it more accessible and straightforward than their previous nine works. The frontman and founder Tom S. Englund states that the band has learnt from the experience of two decades to achieve the kind of feeling of The Storm Withinparticularly from the album Hymns Of The Broken of 2014, which saw the Evergrey renewed in both energy and line-up.
"We went from having no intention of making an album to having all the inspiration in the world in Hymns For The Broken' says Englund, 'but, honestly, we have never felt better. The Storm Within is a massive album. There are no fillers and we never intended to include any. I think the inspiration speaks for itself."
