Back to Audioslave, after the band released the first single 'Be Yourself' on their official website. A ballad that disconcerts on first listening, and that moves away from the canons of the first album, when the band retained the typical Rage Against The Machine sound overlaid by Chris Cornell's voice, which reminds one of the Soundgarden days.
We leave you with the lyrics of the single (below and taken 'by ear') and invite you to pay a visit to the group's website to listen to the song.
Be Yourself
Someone falls to pieces
Sleeping all alone
Someone kills the pain
Spinning in the silence
She finally drifts away
Someone gets excited
In a chapel yard
And catches a bouquet
Another lays a dozen
White roses on a grave
Yeah and ...
Be yourself is all that you can do
To be yourself is all that you can do
Someone finds salvation in everyone
Another only pain
Someone tries to hide himself
And down inside himself he prays
Someone swears his true love
To the end of time
Another runs away
Separate or united
Healthy or insane
Be yourself is all that you can do
To be yourself is all that you can do
Even when you've paid enough
Been put upon
Or been held up
'cause every single memory of
Good or bad
faces of love
Don't lose any sleep tonight
I'm sure everything will end up alright
Even with loss/love
But be yourself is all that you can do
To be yourself is all that you can do
