Only two weeks have passed since Mastodon's portentous concert in Milan, in a warm and crowded Alcatraz for the occasion, and now the band of 'The Hunter' announces its return to Italy, this time in Rome, on 27 June at the Atlantico Live.
The American line-up has established itself in recent years as a reference point of the new metal scene, thanks to its unusual personality.
If with the previous tracks Mastodon had explored more complex themes and sounds, with 'The hunter' a new chapter opens, a new era of US heavy. This is confirmed by the harmonious melodies of the first official single 'Curl of the burl' released in August, as well as the melodic vein of the subsequent 'Black tongue'.
Live, Mastodon proved to be a real war machine. The incredible crowd that gathered at Milan's Alcatraz on 26 January is testimony to what the four American musicians represent in the hard & heavy scene today.
The band was formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2000. The following year it released its first album 'Remission', followed in 2004 by 'Leviathan'. Mastodon became one of the leading bands of the new American heavy metal scene. After touring with Slayer and Slipknot, 2006 saw the release of 'Blood Mountain', their first album for Warner. With the fourth album, "Crack the skye", the band reached the American top ten until the release of "The hunter" this year.
