Exactly forty years after the release of the album dedicated to him by his father Frank, Hot Rats, Dweezil Zappa, announces that it will be headlining the fourth edition of the Chiari Blues Festival (BS) Sunday 5 July. He will be preceded on stage by Walter Trout, The Blasters, Chris Duarte e Sara Zaccarelli. I tickets will be available on Ticketone e Vivaticket (online and point of sale) from Friday 27 December.
Dweezil Zappa began in the 1980s as an MTV vj. In 1982 he made his debut as a musician with the single My Mother is a Space Cadet and in 1986 with the album Havin' a Bad Dayfollowed in 1988 by My Guitar Wants to Kill Your Mama. In 1991, the double album Confessionsco-produced by Nuno Bettencourt. Since the early nineties he has been working on a project called What The Hell Was I Thinking?a single 75-minute track with a guest guitarist list from Jeff Beck a Eddie Van Halen and many others, which, however, will never see the light of day due to various problems. In the meantime, he makes a few appearances in various TV shows.
In 1994 he formed the Z with brother Ahmet on vocals, multi-instrumentalist Mike Keneally on piano and bassist Scott Thunes. The band released their first record, Shampoohorn in 1993, followed in 1996 by Music for Pets. In 2000 he returned as a solo artist with the album Automaticfollowed only six years later by Go with What You Know. The same year the project Zappa Plays Zappawith which he tours the world playing his father Frank's music together with other famous musicians and guests. The latest record effort by Dweezil Zapppa è Via Zammatà.
