EELS, NEW ALBUM AND TOUR FOR MR. E

To celebrate the release of their new album 'The Cautionary Tales of Mark Oliver Everett"scheduled for 21 April, the EELS will embark on a tour of North America and Europe, which will also touch down in our country for two dates: 17 July in Florence at the Roman Theatre of Fiesole e 18 July in Milan at the Auditorium.

With his last performance at Alcatraz in Milan last year, the band leader Mark Everett has returned to perform in a rock formation, after having delighted Italian audiences in past years by performing both solo as an acoustic artist and with the accompaniment of a string quartet for the 'EELS with Strings".

The new album by the singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist and frontman of the EELS Mark Oliver Everett(a.k.a. Mr. E) is described as 'an extraordinarily vivid and intimate account of a personal battle'. The NME recently premiered on its website the new track 'Agatha Chang", which you can listen to at this link: http://www.nme.com/blogs/nme-blogs/track-exclusive-eels-agatha-chang. The album is available for pre-order at the linkhttp://eelstheband.com/stores.php and will be released in a 26-track deluxe edition consisting of two CDs and a 12-inch vinyl double (with 13 bonus tracks included); both editions include a free download.

"The Cautionary Tales of Mark Oliver Everett"marks the release of the eleventh full-length for the EELSwhose debut album 'Beautiful Freak"dates back to 1996. In addition to the recordings, Everett has pursued a number of extra-musical projects, including the publication of the acclaimed book 'Things the Grandchildren Should Know"and the documentary broadcast by the BBC "Parallel Worlds, Parallel Lives"winner of several awards, which tells of Everett and his father, the quantum physicist Hugh Everett III.
