Two hours and forty-five minutes of concert, almost three hours of emotion, punctuated by the hits that made Piero Pelu' one of the most beloved figures in the history of Italian rock. And when we talk about 'El Diablo' let's talk about Rock with the Capital R. Even in the 'electro-acoustic' version, the energy of the Florentine rocker's music infects the more than 1,000 fans who sold out last year.
Friday 9 February at Out of Hours by Reggio Emilia.
The concert begins with 'Louisiana' (sung by the whole place!), while Piero remains seated, unusual.
They follow in a crescendo of emotions Shoot me - Maudit and Restasuffered as never before.
After the peremptory phrase "Welcome to this acoustic concert!" he continued with a few songs without pulling the plug:
Velo, Lentezza, Il volo (dedicated to Ringo), Io ci sarà (dedicated to Cisco, present...).
With a peremptory gesture (Piero removes the chair) the ruckus begins: a continuous build-up to the explosion with Rhythm, Spirit, Queen of Hearts, Laciodrom, Tex, Bombaboomerang.... at 00.05 it's time for congratulations. Yes, it's this rocker's birthday in splendid form, even if he is being ironic: "since you have reminded me that I am one year older... I am going away and not singing!".
He then had to stop the concert for a moment because twice the audience kept chanting 'oeeeee oeee oeee Piero Pieroooo' and the musicians accompanied with their instruments while he smiled in amusement!
He then reappears on stage for the encores announcing a ballad, but it will be 'El Diablo'with Piero strictly shirtless, to mark the end of this stage of Elettroacustico 2007.
All we can say is: 'Good first'.
Best wishes Piero!
