I Fat Freddy's Drop confirm their passion for our country again this year and announce three appointments: two concerts summer - Tuesday 6 August 2024 at Villa Ada in Rome e Wednesday 7 August at the Locus Festival in Locorotondo (BA) - and a great return to Milan in exactly one year, Wednesday 20 November 2024 at Alcatraz. I tickets will be available from 11 a.m. on Friday 24 November on circuits Ticketone (all dates), Ticketmaster (Milan) and Says (Rome and Locorotondo).
For years the Fat Freddy's Drop are one of the most anticipated live bands thanks to their all-dancing shows. The seven-piece line-up made their way from reggae through a colour-saturated field of soulful psychedelia, before diverting to a desolate Detroit highway at night. Their sound is made to be heard live, with its powerful blend of jazz virtuosity and digital sounds.
The live energy of the Fat Freddy's Drop gained a loyal Fred Heads audience. After the forced hiatus, the shows felt like real reunions, thrilling audiences who had held on to tickets for over two years during the pandemic. For a band accustomed to touring internationally every year since 2003, the most logical response was to release the live albums Wairunga e Lock-inrecorded and filmed without the audience, in the motherland in New Zealand. Recording a new studio album is on the band's to-do list for 2024, to follow up on Special Edition Part 1published at the end of 2019.
