FOLK, INDIE, BLUES... OR SIMPLY 'CULT' - PHOSPHORESCENT IN ITALY

Phosphorescent, the project of songwriter Matthew Houck, will make a stop in Italy on 19 November at the Salumeria della Musica in Milan, for one of the most 'cult' appointments of the coming live season. Opening the evening will be the Caveman, New York-based quintet presenting their eponymous second album, hovering between new wave and shoegaze, walls of guitars and ethereal, dreamy atmospheres.

The tour follows the release of "Muchacho', the first album in the last three years, and the sixth in the career of this genius born in Athens, Georgia.
With him on tour, as on the album, we will find other musicians, turntables who revolve around his eclectic, moody, bizarre figure.
Equally enigmatic is his music, which is difficult to categorise: blues? folk? indie rock? It is impossible to find a single definition for the music that Matthew Houck has been producing under this pseudonym since 2003, for which six albums have already been released, including 'To Willie', a tribute to Wille Nelson, in 2009.
'Muchacho' is the successor to 'Here's to Taking it Easy', the most successful work released in 2010 to date, a full length that earned Phosphorescent cult band status.
