Coming to the Ligurian city next 5 May while we have not yet forgotten their fabulous concerts last March, during which the Deep Purple have put the entire Peninsula to the sword, from Parma a Palermo.
At Palazzetto di Genova everything is already ready, the last tickets are available again now in the usual presale outlets and on the TicketOne circuit.
In the spring we saw a band in great shape; the band currently consisting of GILLAN, GLOVER, PAICE, AIREY and MORSE performed a high-profile setlist, full of classics but at the same time testifying to the absolute value of their latest compositions (their latest studio album is 'Rapture of the Deep' from 2005). To refresh your memory, here is the review of the memorable concert in Parma:
SMOKE ON WATER
Yes, because while outside the gates a torrential rain was pouring down on Parma, inside the Palaraschi was staging Rock with a capital R, the one that burns, the one that inflames. The 4,000 fans who filled the Palazzetto responded enthusiastically to an extraordinary performance by Gillan and associates, for what seemed to be a real event for the city. A diverse audience, from teenagers to long-time rockers, literally went crazy with a well-balanced setlist of old favourites and more recent tracks from albums such as 'Rapture of the Deep' and 'The Battle Rages on'.
The Palaraschi was a spectacle during 'Perfect Strangers', 'Fireball', 'Highway Star' and 'Smoke on the Water'. Particularly captivating was Steve Morse's guitar solo, one of the most moving moments of the entire evening, before an encore of 'Black Night', practically announced by the audience itself, with the intonation of the opening riff...
