GEORGE BENSON : HERE'S THE BAND FOR THE ITALIAN TOUR

Kenya Canclibra Hathaway (vocals and percussion), Michael Philip O'Neill (guitar and vocals), David Leonard Garfield (keyboards), Thomas Rex Hall (keyboards), Stanley Banks (bass): this is the band that will accompany the great George Benson in the four Italian dates that will touch Milan, Verona, Cattolica and Catania starting on Sunday 13 June.

"The Irreplaceable"(the artist's latest work, the fourth recorded for GRP/Verve) reconfirms the class and extreme versatility of what can be considered one of the world's leading exponents of all-round jazz, a mixture of blues, soul, fusion, classic and modern jazz, funk and everything that Benson has accustomed us to since he amazed everyone with Breezin' (Warner Bros.) in 1976 and went platinum - the first time for a jazz album.
Since then, the Pittsburgh musician has never stopped, as evidenced by the eight Grammys he has won during a very long and honourable career.
Now, 40 years after his recording debut (with 'The New Boss Of Guitar', 1964, Original Jazz) and four years after his last unreleased album (Absolute Benson, 2000), the singer/guitarist, with the production and songwriting assistance of Joshua Thompson, is back in one of his best musical guises, with his typical sound on the new album IRREPLACEABLE and on this tour, which will include not only new songs but also the songs that introduced George Benson to the history of music.

The musicians who will accompany him live only confirm the artistic stature of the show;

Sunday 13/6: Milan, Teatro Smeraldo
Tuesday 15/6: Verona, Roman Theatre
Wednesday 16/6: Cattolica (Rn), Arena della Regina
Thursday 17/6 Catania, Le Ciminiere Amphitheatre

Concerts start at 21.00
