The Sisters Of Mercy formed in 1980 in Leeds, England, taking their name from the Sisters of Mercy (sisters of mercy), the prostitutes in the song of the same name by Leonard Cohen: "We liked the ambiguity between the original meaning of the expression, which referred to an order of nuns, and that adopted by Cohen". explains the singer Andrew Eldritch. The disturbing soul of their music, which constitutes a fundamental page of the dark-rock e post-punk. Indeed, from the very first years of their career, the group established itself in the dark Olympus alongside bands such as Siouxsie and The Banshees, The Cure, Bauhaus e Joy Division. The shaman voice of darkness of Eldritch remains, along with those of Peter Murphy e Siouxsie Siouxamong the most exciting in the entire Gothic genre.
Opening the concert will be the Hugs of the Sky, a formation resulting from the merger of two Belgian bands when recording a split album during the summer of 2018, and has since released three studio works, the most recent of which is Virtual Lullaby Circus. The band always knows how to surprise its audience, with reworkings of old material and instrument swaps between members.
