Denis Jašarević aka Gramatik is among the most important exponents of contemporary electronic music. His style is a mix of influences ranging from dubstep, electronica, trip hop, hip hop and glitch. Gramatik has released 9 albums, 3 EPs and numerous singles and remixes, and in 2014 was nominated for the European MTV Music Awards. In 2013 he founded his own label, Lowtempwhich allows him to realise his idea of music as a free medium. 2014 was a pivotal year for Gramatik which achieved in Europe the success and level of attention it had already gained in North America. The following three world tours allowed him to perform in front of a lot of fans in the most important cities and at the most interesting festivals.
In 2016 Gramatik made EpigramThis was followed by an extended Epigram Deluxe version with remixes and new instrumentals at the end of the year. The tour in support of Epigram came to an abrupt halt due to an accident that befell the artist, but even the worst situations can be turned into something positive, and in the case of Gramatik This has resulted in a return to writing, testing new ideas and producing new music. The first taste of what's to come was launched in January and it is As We Proceedin collaboration with GRIZwhich has already reached one million plays on Soundcloud. Premiered on Billboard and available on all platforms from 2 June, the new single is Recoverythe result of a joint effort between Gramatik and Eric Krasno, his good friend and regular collaborator. The track opens with a typically 1950s mood and then jumps into our time just after the first verse. Eric Krasno contributed lyrics, vocals and his guitar. With this in mind, 2017 promises to be a very important year for Gramatik.
