GUITAR MANIACS: 6-STRING STAR PARADE CONTINUES INTO AUTUMN

After the summer concerts of some of the world's most important guitarists, a new season in the name of the six strings. In autumn we will see PAT TRAVERS, THE DEREK TRUCKS BAND, RODRIGO Y GABRIELA and the DEVIL'S SLINGSHOT TOUR (McAlpine, Sheehan, Donati).

PAT TRAVERSOn 4 and 5 October (Cortemaggiore and Rome) we will be lucky enough to finally see in Italy one of the most prolific and at the same time respected guitarists on the international scene. With more than twenty albums published in his career, the Canadian musician has been counted among the 'Guitar Heroes' for years thanks to a technique of absolute value. However, you only have to listen to a few notes of any of his compositions, starting from those made in the 80s with musicians such as Tommy Aldrige and Pat Thrall, up to the blues turn of recent years, to understand how Travers has always put taste and the search for feeling at the heart of his music.

THE DEREK TRUCKS BANDFour dates between 17 and 20 October. Two fundamental characteristics for this project: a live activity of rare intensity with more than 300 days a year spent 'on the road' and the fact that in just a few years he has become a fixed point in high-profile American musical culture. DEREK TRUCKS speaks the language of the greats: at the age of 26, he has already toured with ERIC CLAPTON and the ALLMAN BROTHERS. The New York Times described Derek as the best blues guitarist since Clapton, while Rolling Stone USA even wanted him on its cover. The tour starts on the 17th in Rome, then Cortemaggiore, Siena and Milan.

THE DEVIL'S SLINGSHOT TOUR 20078 and 9 November (Cortemaggiore and Rome). The three names behind this project need no introduction. Tony McAlpine, Billy Sheehan and Virgil Donati are three musicians with a clear hard n' heavy background who made a name for themselves during the 80s. Tony McAlpine has a distinguished solo career and, along with Malmsteen, is considered the virtuoso par excellence of the international metal scene. Billy Sheehan, best known for his time as bassist in Mr Big (with whom he sold more than 10 million copies worldwide), was part of the David Lee Roth Band in the late '80s, one of the most histrionic and phenomenal bands in the history of hard rock. Virgil Donati was for years at Steve Vai's court behind the skins. In November we will have the chance to see these three 'monsters' together on stage in a new project that speaks the language of the most technical hard rock.

RODRIGO Y GABRIELA22 and 23 November (Rome and Milan). The duo makes up in November the dates initially scheduled for last May. Two acoustic guitars, a man and a woman, a last album of the same name that has made them known and appreciated all over the world. There is no specialised magazine that has not noticed Rodrigo y Gabriela, a duo of Mexican origin that has given acoustic music an unprecedented rock attitude: elegant sounds blend with metal, tribal and gypsy scores in an enthralling combination that explodes in live performances, where the couple show off all their technique and harmony.
