WINTERSLEEP in Italy in October to present new album 'The Great Detachment'

The Canadians Wintersleep will soon be in Italy to present their latest work, 'The Great Detachment' (Dine Alone Records), released last March. The date is for Saturday 8 October 2016 at Spazio211 in Turin. I tickets are available on the Space211.

In their 15-year career, the Wintersleep have six studio albums and numerous hit singles to their credit, which have earned them awards such as the Juno Award in the category New Group of the Year in 2008 and, in 2009, the honour of opening the concert of Paul McCartney in Halifax.

'The Great Detachment' was anticipated in January 2016 by the single 'Amerika', which reached number one in the Canadian rock and alternative charts and took the album to number nine in the overall chart. Regarding the album's particular title, the drummer Loel Campbell says 'We recently parted ways with the manager we'd been working with since 2005, we took a year off and these are the first shows we've done in a year. It's like we've hit the reboot button, and that's a positive thing. It's nice to come back fresh to our work.

I Wintersleep are Loell Campbell (drums, guitar), Paul Murphy (guitar, vocals), Tim D'eon (guitar, keyboards), Mike Bigelow (bass) and Jon Samuel (keyboards, backing vocals, guitar).
