The concert of the English avant/jazz-rock pioneers Soft Machine originally scheduled for Friday 30 October 2020 at Spazio Teatro 89 in Milan finally has a new date: the must-see date is for Thursday 28 October 2021at the same venue. Tickets already issued will be valid for access to the rescheduled concert and sales are open on the official ticketing circuits Ticketone e Vivaticket.
From the first psychedelic performances on the same stages that hosted Syd Barrett and the Jimi Hendrix Experience to become one of the most famous European fusion bands, the music of the Soft Machine has influenced several generations of musicians and continues to be cited by contemporary experimentalists. The current line-up comprises three quarters of the legendary line-up that in 1975 recorded Softsjoined by saxophonist Theo Travis (Robert Fripp, David Gilmour, Gong). The band will perform both period material (compositions by Hugh Hopper, Mike Ratledge e Karl Jenkins) as well as contemporary works, including the most recent Hidden Details (2018) released exactly fifty years after its debut The Soft Machine (1968).
