THE QUEEN'S RETURN: 4 DATES FOR LOREENA McKENNITT IN SPRING

Loreena McKennitt, undisputed lady of the genre defined as "eclectic Celtic", announces the dates of her first European tour since 2008, the "Celtic Footprint Tour", which will bring her to Italy for four concerts: 16 April at the Teatro Geox in Padua, 17 at the Teatro delle Celebrazioni in Bologna, 18 at the Obihall in Florence and 19 at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, for which pre-sales will open on Friday 28 October through Ticketone and Listicket.

One of a kind, Loreena McKennitt continues to weave her Celtic magic live. The "Celtic Footprints Tour" touches down in 11 European countries for 29 concerts, with a debut on 17 March in Zurich and a grand finale on 24 April in Barcelona.

With her on stage some of the musicians already known to the public for having accompanied her on past tours, such as guitarist Brian Hughes, violinist Hugh Marsh and cellist Caroline Lavelle, while others will be new travelling companions. The audience will be able to listen to songs from albums through which the singer has explored the roots of Celtic music, a musical journey that has taken her from Asia Minor to Ireland.

Originally from a small town in the Canadian prairies, Loreena MCKennitt released her first album 'Elemental' in 1985, the first step towards a success that grew over 12 albums, the last of which 'The Wind That Shakes The Barley' was released in 2010. His music reflects his travels and adventures around the world as well as his ongoing search for the roots of Celtic music. She has always been in control of her music, her music label - which she founded - and her music business. She is in fact one of the most successful independent musicians.
Throughout her career, Loreena McKennitt has won numerous awards and honours, including her country's highest civilian honour as a Member of the Order of Canada.
