Exactly two years after their first Italian show, the Swedes The Night Flight Orchestra announce their return to our country in the company of the One Desire to present their new album, due out in February. The only Italian leg of the tour The Aeromantic Experience is scheduled for Sunday 15 March at the Legend Club in Milan. I tickets will be on sale from 3pm today, Friday 6 December, at Ticketone.
The Night Flight Orchestra is a Swedish metal/metalcore/stoner collective of musicians who experiment with 80s AOR/Hard Rock or, as they like to call it, AOR 2.0. The band was born in 2006 from a shared vision between the founding members Björn Strid (voice) and David Andersson (guitar). The original idea was to create a soundtrack for their journey along the endless American highways, something that everyone could listen to when fed up with the usual music. Strid and Andersson thus decided to select the perfect musicians to share and realise their idea: Sharlee D'Angelo (bass, ARCH ENEMY, SPIRITUAL BEGGARS), Richard Larsson (keyboards), Jonas Källsbäck (drums) and Sebastian Forslund (guitar, percussion).
The first two albums, Internal Affairs e Skyline Whispersmade with Coroner Records received rave reviews, but the band felt they still needed to add something more. The 6 musicians thus move on with Nuclear Blast and publish Amber Galactic, an album awarded Album of the Month by several European rock magazines and secured him a Swedish Grammy nomination. The success culminates with a cracking European tour in autumn/winter 2017, including an Italian leg. The band's new album chapter is scheduled for release in Nuclear Blast for next February.
