Estelle's new album, 'All of me', was released at the end of April and, immediately, the talented soul singer will be at Milan's Salumeria della Musica for her only Italian date, on 7 May.
Estelle came to our country already in the autumn of 2008, for a portentous concert, also in Milan, where she showed all her talent and uncommon class.
Not only great music: besides her unquestionable voice, Estelle is also a fantastic show girl, a modern version of icons such as Arteha Franklin and Ella Fitzgerald, with a charisma that few of her contemporaries can boast.
Her second album 'Shine' marked the debut of John Legend's Homeschool record label, thanks to which Estelle went on to win a Grammy in 2008 and sell two million copies worldwide.
Special guest IORI'S EYES, Italian indie duo, fresh from their debut album 'Double Soul'.
The 'Iori's Eyes' project was born in 2003 from the meeting of Clod and Sofia between school desks.
The two, who played in two different punk rock bands before they started working together, immediately liked each other and started writing their own songs.
In 2006 they recorded their first demo (mixed by Paolo Mauri) in their garage: four tracks, four post-rock rides that already hinted at pop influences not to be underestimated.
Thanks to this demo, the band began to be talked about in the Milan area, but the real change came in 2007, during a live performance at the 'Milano Brucia' festival, organised by the Ministri at Magnolia. It was Federico Dragogna (guitarist and lyricist of the Ministri) who noticed the band, became curious and decided he wanted to work with them.
In May 2008, Iori's Eyes locked themselves in Milan's Noise Factory Studio to record their first EP, 'And Everything Fits in the Yellow Whale', produced by Federico Dragogna and Alessio Camagni. The four tracks are released on a medium that
can almost be described as an 'audio-book' with illustrations and photographs of emerging artists particularly appreciated by the group.
The EP, a small pearl with a lo-fi pop sound, was a great success with both critics and the public, and the band is considered one of the best emerging Italian projects of 2008, boasting excellent reviews and interviews in important magazines such as Rolling Stone, Pig Magazine, Rumore, Wu Magazine, D (La Repubblica) and leading them to play all over Italy and in England (Vice Magazine Party, Mother Festival). The band is called upon for exciting live openings of artists of the calibre of: Blonde Redhead, Brett Anderson (Suede), JJ, Local Natives , !!! (Chk Chk), Ministers, The Wild Beasts, Noah And The Whale and Nouvelle Vague.
In the summer of 2010, Iori's Eyes returned to the studio to record their second EP, entitled 'Matter of Time', again produced by Federico Dragogna.
This second work differs from its predecessor in that it is 'more aggressive' in some respects, both in terms of sound and lyrical writing.
