JAMES MORRISON ANNOUNCES 'THE AWAKENING TOUR' - IN ITALY ON 22 MARCH

As he releases his third album 'The Awakening', James Morrison announces the European tour that will also bring him to Italy, for a single date on 22 March at Milan's Magazzini Generali.

At the age of 26, the British songwriter continues his artistic journey in the direction of the noblest US-made songwriting a tine. After two albums dominated by hits that took him to the top of the charts all over the world, selling almost five million copies, James Morrison produced his most mature work to date. If in his two previous works his great ability to combine the catchiness of his songs with an extraordinary musical depth was already evident, with 'The Awakening', the apex of pop folk suggestion is reached. Recent events, first the loss of her father after a long battle with alcholism and then the birth of her first child, have profoundly influenced the depth of her writing.

It is no coincidence that Bruce Springsteen wanted him as a supporter for the Hyde Park concert, as did Stevie Wonder. Prestigious American TV programmes such as Jimmy Kimmel and the Jay Leno TV Show also wanted him as a guest and, between one sold-out concert and another, James Morrison was invited by Herbie Hancock to participate in the Grammy-winning album 'The Imagination Project', where he performed Sam Cooke's famous song 'A Change is gonna Come'.

These are the factors that make us realise the artistic value of this young singer-songwriter, perhaps more so than the various awards he has won over the last five years, such as the Brit Award for best male artist in 2007 and the various top positions in the charts achieved with the singles "You Give Me Something' or 'Broken Strings'.
