From South Africa to Italy, Jeremy Loopsthe Cape Town-based modern folk singer-songwriter, is set to make his debut in Italy. The date is set for Tuesday 12 July at Circolo Magnolia, Segrate (MI)tickets will be available on the Ticketone as of 10 a.m. on Friday 18 March.
Jeremy Hewitt, better known by his stage name of Jeremy Loops, perfectly embodies through his music the duality and contradictions of his South African origins: ever-expanding rhythms intertwine with folk melodies. Extremes are by no means foreign to the singer, who by day explores the remotest corners of Africa to fight deforestation with his organisation Greenpop, and in the evening unleashes the notes of his folk for fans all over the world. The debut album, Trading Change, published in South Africa in 2014, shows this ever-changing spirit and the pulsating desire to be in harmony with the world.
Trading Change marked a star debut for Jeremy Loops: he reached number one in his home country and won theMTV Africa's Best Alternativ Album. In Europe, the album has been available since 26 February 2016 and in no time has already reached the top on iTunes in the UK, Germany, Holland, Belgium and Switzerland. After several sould outs on the recent European tour, Jeremy Loops is about to embark on a new tour that will see him perform at all the major festivals in South Africa and will touch the shores of Europe and America in October and November.
