John Butler Trio announces a new European tour to celebrate the release of the sixth studio album, 'Flesh & Blood"scheduled for 3 February 2014. The Australian jam band will perform on 18 May 2014 to theEstragon by Bologna.
Opening the concert was Californian folk singer-songwriter Brett Dennen.
Almost four years have passed since the release of the last studio work, "April Uprising"a period during which the band led by John Butler has toured the world performing in front of ever-growing audiences, played a key role in campaigning for environmental causes in Australia, released 2 live albums ("Live at Red Rocks" e "Tin Shed Tales") and, most importantly, composed and recorded "Flesh & Blood". The same John Butler said of the album: 'I hope fans will take it with them on a journey, I hope it can be the soundtrack to some exhilarating moments in their lives and some negative moments, I hope it can be suitable for the most intense moments as well as the quiet ones.
The first single from the album, 'Only One", a joyful, sunny and optimistic track, can already be listened to in streaming at www.johnbutlertrio.com or purchased on iTunes (in Europe from 2 December, in the UK from January).
The new drummer, percussionist and chorister Grant Gerathy recently joined the band that, in addition to founder John Butler (guitar, vocals), also includes Byron Luiters to the bass. More John Butler says about the upcoming tour: 'Grant, Byron and I are having a lot of fun rehearsing the songs from the new album and mixing them with the old songs, and we can't wait to introduce them to our fans.
