JONATHAN WILSON, two dates on Roger Waters tour breaks

In one of his rare moments of respite from theUs + Them tour by Roger Waters which is taking him around the world, the multi-instrumentalist Jonathan Wilson will perform two concerts in Italy to present his latest work Rare Birdsscheduled for release in spring 2018. The dates to pin on your calendar are Thursday 19 April at the Quirinetta in Rome e Friday 20 April at the Bronson in Madonna dell'Albero (RA). The past year has been a very busy one for Wilson: in addition to having produced the album Pure Comedy by Father John Mistycollaborated with the aforementioned Roger Waters for Is This The Life We Really Want? and has won great recognition for its work with Karen Elson at Double Roses. However, it does not appear that the multi-instrumentalist plans to rest during 2018, which will see him simultaneously engaged in two tours, the one together with Waters and its Rare Birds tour 2018in support of the forthcoming new album. For this work Wilson made use of excellent collaborators, including Lana Del Rey e Father John Misty, and moved towards a totally new sound with synthesisers and drum machines that will make music critics desist from comparing his music to Laurel Canyon's singer-songwriters: 'Comparisons to Neil Young, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Dennis Wilson and Tom Petty are very flattering, but I don't really feel I resemble them. In this album I refer to earlier versions of my music, continuing a musical narrative that began when I recorded my first four songs when I was thirteen. I feel the influence of my vocal coach and the influence of having worked for months in my studio with Roger Waters at the same time I was recording this album. This gave me the feeling of being able to expand and forge new sonic labyrinths'.
