Folk singer-songwriter COURTNEY MARIE ANDREWS will be in MILAN in September

The warm, enveloping voice of Courtney Marie Andrews, American folk singer-songwriter class of 1990, will arrive in Italy in early autumn, Tuesday 24 September at Circolo Ohibò by Milan. Access to the concert requires a ARCI cardtogether with tickets already available on the VivaticketTicketone DIY Ticket (online and point of sale). Beware of unofficial circuits!

Courtney Marie Andrews has spent the last few years on the road, criss-crossing the United States with his faithful guitar always on his shoulder. At the age of 16, he left his hometown in Arizona and has never stopped producing music ever since: it was in her van that the musician was able to write the best pieces, drawing on the adventures she experienced day after day on the road. Her albums tell these stories, the life away from home and the people she met along the way who in one way or another formed a bond with her. "All people pray for a better life than the one they have. Unattainable goals make everyone dissatisfied. We have to come to terms with the reality we live in." said Courtney Marie. "My lyrics also talk about this, but without giving right or wrong opinions. Even if with melancholy, the most complicated problems must be addressed."

In May Your Kindness Remain (Fat Possum/Loose, 2018), the artist's sixth and - so far - last record, as well as the acoustic guitar and vocals of Courtney Marie Andrews, there are: Dillon Warnek (second guitar), Daniel Walker (keyboard), Alex Sabel (bass) and William Mapp (drums and percussion). All these new elements fill out and enhance the artist's already strong sound and add feeling to the entire album, which is included by Rolling Stone USA in the 25 Best Country and American Albums of 2018. This album, coming two years after the previous Honest Life (2016), was recorded in Los Angeles. During its realisation Courtney Marie rented a small house with his band with a beautiful view of the city skyline, a view that helped change his perspective and pushed him to push his limits. "I needed to be shaken up, to create something different and change direction. In my work there are Lucinda Williams, Bob Dylan and Tom Waits, but for once I wanted to create a unique and modern sounding record."
