Judy Collinsa true piece of international folk music history, will be the star of a unique evening for devotees of the genre during which he will present his latest work Spellboundreleased last February. Saturday 2 July 2022 the singer-songwriter will take the festival stage Folkest of Spilimbergo (PN)one of the best known folk music festivals in our country. I tickets will be available on the Ticketone and on Folkest.com from 12 noon tomorrow, Thursday 10 March.
Throughout his long career, Judy Collins has always shown impeccable taste. In his landmark 1967 album Wildflowers presented an extraordinary collection of original pieces together with those of names not yet known to the public at the time such as Joni Mitchell e Leonard Cohenas well as a courageous selection of songs by Jacques Brel e Francesco Landini. Her rich sound palette and gift for writing have allowed her to evolve into a poetic singer-songwriter devoted to storytelling. Now in her sixth decade as a singer and songwriter, Judy is experiencing a profound level of growth and renewed creativity.
His 29th studio album, Spellbound, sees Judy enjoy an artistic renaissance. The 13 pieces that make up the work deserve special mention in his career. For the first time ever Judy is the author of all the pieces, 12 modern folk songs and one of her evergreens, The Blizzardas a bonus track. Spellbound is an introspective and impressionistic album, and unfolds as if Judy was the curator of a museum exhibition on her life, welcoming us into a retrospective of her most formative moments, some well-known and public, others intensely personal and intimate.
In addition to the Collinsthe stages of the Folkest - divided between Udine and Spilimbergo - this year will host many other artists, including Jethro Tull, Alan Stivell and many others. For all information and pre-sales please visit Folkest.com.
