One of the young promises of modern blues, Marcus King, returns to Italy with his band for an exclusive summer date in the countryside, as part of the new edition of Hello Folks Sessions. The concert, which will be opened by Francesco Piu, will be held Sunday 12 July at Parco Tittoni in Desio (MB), just outside Milan, and will begin at 5 p.m. so that fans can watch the final of the Euro 2020 Championships, which will be broadcast live on the big screens of the ParkThe food area will be available so you won't miss a minute of the match. Young phenom from South Carolina, Marcus King is a songwriter, guitarist, singer and bandleader with the musical ability and experience of a mature bluesman. Growing up in Greenville, Marcus rattled the blues strings and his sense of rhythm from an early age, playing with his father, famed bluesman Marvin King. . On this adventure he is accompanied by Jack Ryan on drums and percussion, Stephen Campbell on bass, Matt Jennings on keyboard and organ, Dean Mitchell on sax and Justin Johnson on trumpet, trombone and backing vocals.
The band's recording debut dates back to 2015 with Soul Insightpublished on the label Evil Teen Records by Warren Hayneswhich achieved considerable success and reached the number position in the Blues Album Chart by Billboard. The second album, The Marcus King Band (Fantasy Records, 2016) is a project that showcases King's highest qualities with its soul-influenced psychedelic Southern rock, and hosts a host of mentors and collaborators including Dereck Trucks e Warren. The band's latest studio work is El Dorado, released by Fantasy Records last January.
