After the award-winning Far From Home of 2016, Calypso Rose returned last year with the EP Calypso Rose & Friends. The first extract is Young Boya duet with Machel Montano released shortly before the performance at Coachella in which Calypso Rose stood out as the oldest in the line-up. The EP explores the singer's memory and abundant repertoire, which spans Jamaican, African and South American music. Unreleased songs, personal reinterpretations of songs from the Caribbean and African musical heritage, as well as collaborations with artists who affectionately call her Mama Rose and whose careers it influenced, such as Nailah Blackman. During 2019 Calypso Rose toured festivals halfway around the world, from Coachella in California to We Love Green in France via England, Germany and Greece, ending its journey with a sold-out performance at the historic Olympia of Paris.
Last April Calypso Rose celebrated its 80th spring, and is about to hit the road again with its music!
