Daughtry coming... at last! On 13 March 2014 at Magazzini Generali in Milan, the band led by Chris Daughtry will stop for the first time in Italy, after having become, in just seven years, one of the most popular rock bands made in the USA.
It's been seven years since Chris Daughtry, a successful songwriter for several rock bands, including Nickleback, starred on American Idol and won a contract with RCA, a contract that the label has been careful not to renew. The Duaghtry's music has brought them success after success since 2006, from their eponymous debut album (four times platinum), with the hits "It's not over" and "Home", to 2013's "Baptized", launched by the hit single "Waiting for Superman". In between, there were two more platinum-selling albums: 2009's 'Leave this Town', which debuted at number one on Billboard, selling 300,000 copies in its first week alone, and 2011's 'Break the Spell', which sold more than 500,000 copies in the US alone.
No pun intended, Daughtry are truly American Idols, in the sense that few bands like them have been able to give so many hit songs to iconic US films, video games or TV series (Batman, WWE to name but two), and no other US band has ever managed to get so deeply into the souls of young Americans.
