The Easy Star All-Stars, Famous for having revisited some historic rock records in a reggae key, after last February's dates, at the end of October they will once again delight the Italian public with a series of concerts that will touch the provinces of Treviso on 18 October, Turin on the 19th, then play in Rome on the 20th, Bologna on the 21st and finally Mezzago (Milan) on Saturday 22 October.
Easy Star All Stars: New York band consisting of Michael Goldwasser, Victor 'Ticklah' Axelrod, Patrick Dougher and Victor Rice. They are known to the general public mainly for releasing tribute albums to the greatest rock records, but reinterpreted in an original raggae/dub key. Their first success came in 2003 with the release of 'Dub Side of the Moon', a tribute to the famous 'Dark Side of the Moon' by the Pink Floyd. Paying homage to the rock of the 1990s, in 2006 the group released its second work: 'Radiodread', a cover-album of the album 'O.K. Computer' by the Radiohead. Their publications could not fail to include a tribute to what is considered by most to be one of the greatest phenomena in contemporary music: the Beatles. April 2009 saw the release of "Easy Star's Lonely Hearts Dub Band", a reinterpretation of the Liverpool quartet's "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band". The following year, it was the turn of 'Dubber Side of the Moon', a further reinterpretation of the Floyd masterpiece with the participation of Mad Professorproducer of Dum Music, and Adrian Sherwooda well-known American producer. Easy Star also have an album of original material to their credit: 'Until That Day', released in 2008. However, it is their latest work 'First Light', released in 2011, that has established Easy Star All Stars as one of the most influential groups on the international reggae scene. "First Light' is in fact their first real album entirely composed of previously unreleased tracks, work through which the band takes important steps, demonstrating their mastery of reggae in all its facets, from progressive to classic to roots. The album also includes guests such as The Meditations, Cas Haley, Junior Jazz, Lady Ann e Tony Duff.
As well as attracting the usual reggae audience, Easy Star's shows attract a varied audience, as has been amply demonstrated by the radio success of many of their songs, which have been broadcast extensively on stations throughout Italy and the rest of the world. Anyone who has attended one of their shows can testify to a fantastic experience given by one of the best reggae bands of recent times.
