"And if the band you play in starts playing different tunes, we will see each other again on the dark side of the moon." After three decades, the most admired and discussed Moon is back. Back then, those gentlemen had the names Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Rick Wright and Nick Mason, and a band called Pink Floyd. Now, in the year of grace 2003, they come from the land of kangaroos The Australian Pink Floydto present a show that the London Times described as "the world's best tribute show". Over two hours of almost maniacal reinterpretation of the typical Floyd live show, in a performance acknowledged as unique and official by David Gilmour himself.
The Australian Pink Floyd is the new bet launched by Barley Arts after the great sales results of the show The Musical Box, a Genesis tribute band scheduled for April. A live experiment, that of tribute band shows, which is still new to the Italian market, but which has been popular in the rest of the world for a few years now: The Australian Pink Floyd played over 200 dates in 2003, and have historic performances at the Royal Albert Hall of London and the mythical Glastonbury Festival.
