It will be Arezzo Wave in its winter version to host the first date of the tour by MEG, the female voice of the 99 Posse who came out last October with her first solo album of the same name. 10-year career and 4 albums together with the 99 Posse ('Cerco tiempo', 'Corto circuito', 'La vida que vendrà' and 'Na_99_10°'); numerous collaborations with various important Italian artists such as the Subsonica, Roy Paci, Pino Daniele, Tiromancino e Nuova Compagnia di Canto Popolarethe project Nous with Marco Messina, with whom he composed the soundtrack for the play 'Dentro la tempesta' ('Inside the storm', directed by Giancarlo Cauteruccio ) by the experimental company Kripton, freely adapted from William Shakespeare's 'The storm'.
It is with this long experience behind her that Meg reappears on the Italian music scene in October 2004. The album is simply called 'MEG" (Multiformis / SonyBMG) , and is preceded by the single "Symbiosis "(a short excerpt in the Barley Box on the right). The release of the new single 'Winged Words".
Meg's on-the-road adventure, produced by Barley Arts, will start on 25 February at the Arezzo Wave Convention Hall (free admission) to develop into the summer. The first dates confirmed so far hint at the peculiarity of a tour inclined to bring MEG's music to very different environments, to emphasise the desire for a message that wants to reach the public as a conception of art, and therefore universal and uncategorisable. It is no coincidence that the name Meg has chosen for the label inaugurating her solo career is "Multiformis"which, among its many meanings, certainly evokes that of a "not closed, not limited, not definable by an outline but which can be interpreted and read on various levels". Another element that will certainly make it easier for more people to enter Meg's world will be the concert admission prices, which by the artist's will will always be low.
Hence, in March, participation in a number of festivals under the banner of sound contamination such as the "VenerElectrica' at the Rocca Paolina in Perugia, which boasts a cast of several female bands, and the 'Mediterranean warmth" at the PalaRuffini in Turin, together with Feel Good Production and Raiz. Passing through social centres and clubs, it will also lead to two prestigious dates in Milan and Rome, when Meg will perform at the Conservatorio and Auditorium Parco della Musica respectively.
