It has been years since the NIGHTWISH brought the European Passion Tour to Italy, a milestone in their career. The confirmation of frontwoman Anette's leadership, a highly successful album 'Dark Passion Play' and a sold-out tour reaffirmed the Scandinavian band's endless class. The release of the new 'Imaginaerum' on 2 December and the announcement of a new world tour, which will pass through Milan on 25 April 2012, are among the most eagerly awaited news for metal audiences.
There will only be one date in our country and it will undoubtedly mark a new important stage in Nightwish's growth: it will be the Milan Forum, a temple of indoor concerts by top international artists, to host the 'Imaginaerum World Tour' on 25 April.
Confirmed for the entire tour are special guests Battle Beast, another Finnish band with female vocals, whose sound is closer to classic metal than Nightwish.
'Dark Passion Play', the first album with Anette at the microphone, released in 2008, entered the charts in fourteen countries, including Italy. In addition to the singer we find the three founding members Tuomas Holopainen (keyboards and main composer from the beginning to the present), Emppu Vuorinen (guitar), Jukka Nevalainen (drums) and Marco Hietala (bass and vocals), who joined the band in 2001, shortly before the band achieved great success.
The breakthrough album for Nightwish was 'Century Child' 2001, a work that marked their transition from underground band to European phenomenon, going platinum in Finland in just two weeks.
'Once' of 2004 is an even bigger success, propelling the band to the top of the German, Greek and Norwegian charts and recording excellent results in Italy as well.
Here are the details of the only Italian date of the tour that will follow the release of the new 'Imaginaerum':
