Two up-and-coming names on the international scene, but already hailed by specialised critics, will make a stop at the Salumeria della Musica in Milan on Sunday and Monday.
We are talking about soul-hip hop vocalist Nneka and the Vintage Trouble, a quartet that mixes r&b, funk and rock & roll.
Nneka (pictured), a true champion of her people, described by the British newspaper Times as 'one of the best soul singers to have emerged in recent times', came out in September with her new album 'Soul Of Heavy', a combination of hip hop, reggae and typically African sounds, whose main themes are love for her country, pain, politics and religion. "My music is not about me but about a whole country," he says.
SUNDAY 4 DECEMBER 2011 - MILAN - SALUMERIA DELLA MUSICA (Single Seat Euro 15.00)
Special guest: MASAI - Concert starts at 9 p.m.
Vintage Trouble - though making their debut under this moniker - are a veteran band that has been delivering adrenaline shocks up and down the west coast of the USA for years. Their electric sound borrows elements from soul, r&b and the more adrenaline-fuelled rock'n'roll, redefining a vintage yet contemporary attitude. Ty Taylor (vocals), Nalle Colt (guitar), Rick Barrio Dill (bass) and Richard Danielson (drums) are the four faces of this little artistic revolution.
