'NAME AND SURNAME' AT NO. 1 IN THE ALBUM CHART WITH 250,000 COPIES SOLD IN ONE WEEK!

"NOME E COGNOME", LUCIANO LIGABUE's new album, enters the FIMI/NIELSEN chart of best-selling records at No. 1 (in the week 16-22 September), with over 250,000 copies sold in a single week. Confirming Luciano Ligabue's credibility and success, another incredible fact emerges, again scrolling through the FIMI/NIELSEN chart released today: in addition to the latest album, as many as six records by the rocker from Correggio have re-entered the charts: 'Ligabue' (40th place), 'Happy Birthday Elvis' (47th place), 'Up is Down from a Stage' (54th place), 'Lambrusco, Knives, Roses & Popcorn' (66th place), 'Fuori come va?' (70th place) and 'Giro d'Italia' (87th place).

"Each of us is the sum of all the moments in our lives - says Ligabue - That result is, for better or worse, unique. Name and Surname has to do with defending that uniqueness. They scramble to put us all into big flattening containers: generation, audience, people. And then, alongside such generic words, they put a couple of adjectives with which they claim to describe us all: the bored or dreamy or resigned generation, etc. But if it is true that an overall picture has to be drawn sooner or later, it is also true that each one of us has to be called by our First Name Surname, with respect for our personal history... I agree with those who say that every artist, when expressing himself, draws his own self-portrait. It is an 'internal' self-portrait, the self-portrait of one's own soul. I have also done this in the past, when I think back to my previous records, to the themes they contain, I seem to see my features, my life at the time, outlined. This process was repeated again this time, perhaps even more clearly. I played the songs to my friends, and they all found that I told them more about myself than usual, they recognised me even more easily in these songs. Here it is, then, my passport photo. The one of this moment. The one that blends in with all the others that ended up on the album cover. And each of these has First and Last Name."

Produced by Fabrizio Barbacci, Luca Pernici and Ligabue, 'NAME AND SURNAME' was recorded and mixed by Fabrizio Simoncioni at the Zoo Studio in Correggio (RE). Executive production is by Claudio Maioli, historic manager of the Emilian rocker.

This is the track list of the album: "IL GIORNO DEI GIORNI", "HAPPY HOUR", "L'AMORE CONTA", "COSA VUOI CHE SIA", "LE DONNE LO SANNO", "LETTERA A G.", "VIVERE A ORCHIO", "GIORNO PER GIORNO", "È PIÙ FORTE DI ME", "SONO QUI PER L'AMORE". The ten songs are preceded by a short introduction.
