The band announced yesterday the release of new unreleased album, entitled 'XXMII'. (2012), as had already leaked from the band's official website in recent days.
The Italian release date is set for 3 April and will be released by Spinefarm Records.
In 2011, the band released the live album 'Down by the River', which was created 'by the hand' of Geordie Walker (guitarist and founder of Killing Joke - with Jaz Coleman, Paul Ferguson and Martin Youth Glover) and recorded on the occasion of Killing Joke's appearance at the Royal Festival Hall in London. "It was the band's 25-year separation," Walker writes, "and the subsequent reunion of the original line-up that moved the idea.
Killing Joke, innovators of a musical genre combining metal with post-punk and new wave, formed in London in the late 1970s. They released their first record, the eponymous 'Killing Joke', in 1980, still considered a classic of the genre. Ten successful albums and then the break-up in 1996. The band continued with Jaz Coleman and Geordie Walker before reuniting after twelve years.
The band's new direction started in 2008 with 'Absolute Dissent', which won 'Album of the Year' in the UK. Killing Joke will be on tour from March to present their new 'XXMII' to the public.
