Ethan Bortnick was born in Florida, but his prodigious talent as a classical pianist made his childhood an international event. At the age of three, he was already able to play Mozart on his keyboard, and three years later he began composing. He has appeared on numerous national and international shows, including Oprah and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and went on to win a Guinness World Record at the age of nine as the youngest person in the world to embark on a solo tour, as well as having his own special aired on the US television channel PBS. Despite his great success and the constant validation that came before and during his teenage years, Bortnick's thirst for music was never quenched, but at a certain point solitude became necessary for him to draw a line between the past and the future and to define the kind of artist he wanted to become. With the outbreak of the pandemic, Bortnick was able to put his touring commitments on hold and focus on his production with multi-instrumentalist and producer Dylan Edmunds, a close collaborator, with whom he wrote the single Cut My Fingers Off, released in November 2021 and enthusiastically received by both critics and audiences, with a boom of over 5 million new followers on TikTok for the artist and an equal number of streams on Spotify. The next two singles, engravings and deadly ever after, currently have a combined total of almost 38 million streams. To date, Bortnick has played over 1,000 headlining concerts worldwide and collaborated with Kanye West and Miley Cyrus on the 2010 version of We Are The World.
