The Otherkin, a Dublin-based band that is rapidly conquering the editorial offices of major Anglo-Saxon music magazines, will be in Italy for a single concert Saturday 25 November 2017 at Legend Club in Milan. I tickets will soon be available on the official Ticketone (online and point of sale).
"We want our records to be intense, essential and incendiary. Straight to the point, no fluff": this is the promise of the band, who in 2016 presented their second EP The New Vice at all major European festivals. Luke, Conor e David plan to form a band as early as 2013, but the Otherkin do not see the light until, during the same year, they meet the drummer Robwho shares their passion for bands such as Queens Of The Stone Age, The Clash, Ramones e Blur.
Early gigs in college dormitories and private homes gave way to real shows in Dublin's very active live venue circuit, which later evolved into participation in Irish festivals Longitude, Electric Picnic, Hard Working Class Heroes e Other Voices in 2014. After a couple of self-produced pieces, in early 2015 the Otherkin produce the turbulent grunge-pop single Ay Aywhich attracts the attention of the Irish indie label Rubyworks. The release of the EP with the singles Ay Ay e Feel It coincides with the band's debut on the stages of Leeds e Reading Festival and with his first proper UK tour. After producing another EP, The New Vice, the Otherkin are currently in the studio recording their debut album, which will be released in the coming months on the label Rubyworks.
The Otherkin are Luke Reilly (vocals, guitar), Conor Wynne (guitar), David Anthony (low), Rob Summons (battery).
