Overkill is over 30 years synonymous with power, precision and perseverance. In the words of the vocalist Bobby 'Blitz' Ellsworth, the only member of the original line-up along with bassist D.D.Verniwe have never had an identity crisis. We know who we are and to pursue something different would simply kill the purity of our music. This is what we are, either you love it or you hate it'.
A formula that, with 16 albums under its belt, a series of tours alongside Megadeth, Anthrax and Helloween (to name but a few) at major festivals in the four corners of the globe, and an iconic place in metal history can rightly be described as more than successful.
After influencing generations of bands with their sound, the Overkill are experiencing a second youth since 2009, the year the partnership with the legendary Nuclear Blast. The label's long-awaited and acclaimed debut album, 'Ironbound" of 2010, signified a return to its origins, while its successor, "The Electric Age"2012', is marked by more contemporary sounds, without, however, denying the band's roots and the fundamental imprint that is its trademark.
Special guests of the Overkill will be the Skeletonwitch. The line-up, originally from Athens, Ohio, has refined its compositional formula in ten years of almost uninterrupted studio and on-stage activity, releasing in 2013 its fifth album, 'Serpents Unleashed". Recorded under the guidance of Kurt Ballou (Converge, Isis, High On Fire) and enhanced by the contribution of John Baizley (Baroness, Kylesa, Kvelertak) who curated the artwork, "Serpents Unleashed"consolidates the growing reputation of Skeletonwitch such as one of the most valuable realities of the contemporary metal scene.
