Born in 2009 in memory of Mirko Pesce Bertolini, who died in a motorbike accident in 2008, Big Fish Day has become the end-of-summer festival par excellence in the Savio valley, near Cesena. This year's charity event will be held on Saturday 27 May in the historic centre of Mercato Saraceno (FC) and will see important foreign and local bands take turns on stage, as well as hosting the annual motor rally and providing food and children's areas. As always, the proceeds will go to Emergency, with which the association supports the Goderich paediatric hospital in Sierra Leone, and to local projects in the Savio Valley.
The headliners of Big Fish Day 2023 will be Paddy and the Rats, a Hungarian celtic punk band with six albums behind them and a long list of achievements: over 30 million views on YouTube, a series of appearances at festivals such as Wacken, Sziget and Haarzuilens, and an average of 280,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. Their latest work is From Wasteland To Wonderland, released in 2022 on the Napalm Records label.
